Boy? Boy Cat?

Perhaps because Plum is a male cat and I call him my son, and I also call him a handsome fellow which is what I now call Owen as well, I have started mixing up the names and calling Owen Plum and Plum Owen.  I'm hoping it is not a sign of early onset Alzheimers.

And when I call Owen Plum, he gives me this look:

Whachu talkin' about, Willis?

As well he should.

Body Buffer Zone

As my southern nieces could tell you, I am someone who likes her body buffer zone respected.  In fact, I'm one of those annoying people who often demarcate it by drawing an imaginary, yet pointed, box around my person with four swipes of my arms and an accompanying glare.

Ha.  Those days are over.  This is now the view when I tilt my head and look down:

And oh look!  What is glued to my side?:

But at least my legs and feet are solo on the hassock, right?  Wrong:

And I'm pretty sure I'm currently wearing Posy as a hat.

Exhausted Exotic

Posy would like you all to know that it is exhausting having her sleep interrupted by the cries of a furless kitten with an obvious thyroid problem.  How is an Exotic supposed to get her beauty sleep with all that racket going on?  Why, she is forced to sleep all day in order to catch up!

Shhhhh!  Unless you are proffering a cupcake with buttercream frosting, go away!

Owen Gets Dressed

Owen has been fortunate enough to receive some spiffy clothes as birthday gifts, and he inherited a few bins of hand-me-downs from his cousin, Henry.  I thought I would show you some of his outfits of the past few weeks.  (If the thought of an infant's onesies bores you to tears, this is an entry you should skip over!  Although there just might be a bulldogge photo in the mix....)

Here's Owen in his first week home wearing what is one of my favorite of his newborn onesies which he received from his Aunt Martha.  It is a nice jailhouse stripe, and it came with an adorable little hat, which always affords me several minutes of guffaws and snickers:

And here's Owen in a duck-themed onesie from his maternal grandparents.  This is one of several outfits he has that came with a large animal applique across the tuckus.  Because a boy in a onesie is cute, but a boy in a onesie with a duck across the butt is even cuter, no?:

And here Owen is wearing one of several Suzy Zoo onesies hand-appliqued for him by his Great Aunt Elsie.  Luckily she made them in both newborn and 3-month sizes, as he quickly grew out of the newborn ones.  Oink oink:

I don't remember where this onesie came from, but I've included it because it speaks the truth:

Thanks to Dorothy's reknown, Owen received many articles of clothing with a bulldogge theme.  Here is his white bulldogge onesie from his paternal grandparents:

And this is a onesie I had long admired at Philadelphia's Art Star Craft Bazaar, and this year I finally had cause to purchase it.  The pirate is exhorting us all to "eat yer peas and carrots, arrgh!"  A vegan pirate!  How hipster:

Here is Owen wearing his hat with the Hermes, Messenger God theme (and a car t-shirt he inherited from his cousin Henry).  His silly mother put the hat on backwards, so Owen appears to be flying hither instead of thither.  Oops:

Owen is looking stylish in this soy onesie--chocolate with green piping--from Dayle.  This is a favorite of mine, even though its system of snaps seems to repeatedly stymie Owen's father.  Did someone not have a Dressy Bessy doll as a child?  Apparently not:

Jungle Jammies!  I think from Auntie Martha?  Or was it from Granny and Grandfather?  Someone please correct me.  At any rate, Owen looks quite pleasant in them.  And they are footed!

Another hand-me-down from cousin Henry, a rhino jumper.  I later realized they also have rhino socks to match.  We'll put on the socks for the next wearing:

A blue bulldogge onesie from Owen's paternal grandparents!:

Okay, this striped outfit is silly, I admit.  But what isn't silly is the pair of converse high tops he is wearing with the outfit!  His feet are still just for show (and kicking) at this point--but they look quite stylish!

And here Owen is wearing a sweater which was one of the last items my grandmother Ruth knitted.  My Aunt Elsie finished it for her, and added a matching hat to the mix.  Doesn't Owen look cute in it?:

Now wait just a minute!  Okay, okay.  Here is Dorothy wearing one of her father's cast-off work shirts.  It smells just like Dad!:

Today Owen is wearing elephant booties, which are just the cutest thing I ever did see.  He likes elephants, even though he wants you to know he is a democrat and not a republican:

And here is the whole outfit:  elephant booties, gray trousers, and a lovely dinosaur onesie from Sean's parents.  It's a six-month size onesie and fits my six-week old son.  Need I mention that he is going to eat us out of house and home? :

And here is my favorite of all--Owen wearing a smile!  He has just started to smile, and it is my favorite accessory of his so far:

Okay, the smiles don't last long yet!  But I'd stop smiling if I had acid reflux too.  Poor Owen!:

Thief!

Oh, hello there.

I'm looking for a blanket.  It's a pale blue receiving blanket, and I would like the lower 2/3rds of my body to be swaddled in it, so that I do not kick myself out of a fine nap.

Have you seen it?

Dorothy?  Might that be something pale blue under your chin?

The Background

Is NOT the place for a bulldogge in a photo:

Nope, still not good enough.  Photo = Fail.  And why does the bulldogge not have a soft blanket on which to lay her pretty head?

Ha ha.  Not even close:

Now we are getting somewhere.  Yet what is that still cradled in my paw?!  Oh look, it's a grudge!  I'll let go of it, but it is going to cost you.  The belly!  It needs scratching.  The muzzle, it needs cheesesteaks!  Begin flattery now!
